Encryption
Encryption is the process of encoding data or information in such a way that it can be accessed only by authorized parties. Encryption uses mathematical algorithms, or ciphers, to transform plaintext (readable data) into ciphertext (encrypted data) and back again.
Encryption is used to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of data and is an important tool for protecting sensitive information, such as financial transactions, personal communications, and intellectual property. Encryption is used in a variety of contexts, including online communication, data storage, and electronic payments.
There are two main types of encryption: symmetric and asymmetric. Symmetric encryption uses the same key for both encryption and decryption, while asymmetric encryption uses a pair of keys, a public key and a private key, for encryption and decryption.
Encryption is an important aspect of cybersecurity and is used to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
